Yesterday was release day for Altogether Beautiful: A Study of the Song of Songs by LCMS Deaconess Heidi Goehmann! (You know, Heidi.) Below I’ll link to a trailer for the video based Bible study and explain a little how it works. Woo hoo!
The preview—and perhaps first sighting—for some of you:
Altogether Beautiful from Concordia Publishing House (CPH) on Vimeo.
Ok, the way it works is this. There is a book for sale, in paperback and Kindle, and there is a video package you buy through Vimeo ($2.99 each or $23.92 all). The video combines with the book as a Bible study with leader that works with a group or without one. You watch one video per week and do “homework” other days, so there’s time for question, discussion, etc.
It’s an eight-week study and it is NOT ON MASCARA. Or other weird things people have come up with as though they magnify or reveal beauty. It’s an eight-week study about SCRIPTURE and Christ, who makes us altogether beautiful in Him.
Here are the video titles/subjects:
- Draw Near (Song of Songs 1:1-7)
- The Purpose of Pleasure (Song of Songs 1:12-14)
- Desire, Desperation, and Salvation (Song of Songs 3:1-3)
- Altogether Beautiful (Song of Songs 4:1-7)
- Folly and Forgiveness (Song of Songs 5:1-8)
- That Which is Truly Awesome (Song of Songs 6:4-10)
- A Love Stronger then Death (Song of Songs 8:6-7)
- Make Haste (Song of Songs 8:13-14)
I’d love to post a review about it, but, um, am swamped for a while. Anyone like to volunteer? 🙂
