To be honest, though, no matter how much thinking you put into it, it may be hard to find helpful readers. People just do not read like they used to!
But the antidote I try to tell myself is to write what I want to read. That is, we aren’t the best beta readers for our own stuff either, 🙂 but we needn’t sell ourselves short.
