Yay yay yay! I’m especially excited to tell you about this new release: Alan Kornacki’s Rejoice, O Zion! Sing! Hymns for the Lutheran Service Book One-Year Lectionary and Other Occasions!
I always really enjoy it when Kornacki shares his work and this is a great looking collection of them! Scriptural texts with singable tunes—mostly familiar melodies from the Lutheran Service Book or other Lutheran hymnals. Family-friendly Lutheran poetry to sing, read, pray, or recite! Yay yay yay!
(In case you’re curious, he’s also included an appendix to simplify finding texts for the Three-Year readings.)
Alan Kornacki has written a three-volume series of novels, a book of non-fiction titled Lutheran Purgatory: Pastors without Calls, and now this!
In case you’re curious, here‘s a link to a previous post I’ve done on poets & Lutheran poetry. I’ll also mention a book by Robin Fish, Useful Hymns, which includes more than 200 Lutheran hymns. These are happy books for me to think about! Great gifts to the church and all you have to do is buy them and embrace them. 🙂
Thank you, Pastor Kornacki, for all you do!
