Jesus stood up. That’s an amazing thing, conjuring a physical reality and strength we can all marvel at. Yet, so often we overlook the God-Man to see various who, what, and hows that make us more comfortable. That’s a shame and the book, Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up: 12 False Christs, is an excellent antidote for all of our own fallen perceptions and tendencies.

The Fear of the Lord
I vividly remember the first time I read, “I should fear, love, and trust in the Lord” from Luther’s Small Catechism. My little heart started to pound. I had a moment of panic, wondered whether I’d mis-learned about God! “Fear?” What exact is the fear of the Lord? And, what’s the right way to fear the Lord?
Something to Dwell On
I’m sharing an idea, though I don’t really expect anyone to take me up on this. What would you think about a short series of Bible studies revolving on Bible passages addressing the concept “dwell.” Would that be something to dwell on? I think it fleshes out surprisingly well.
