Chalking of the Doors

I know, and you know, that words are great. That writing, not only in the formation of abstract words but also in the movement-made-visible for the sake of communication, is a tremendous gift. So check out this nifty article about the “Chalking of the Doors.” I’d never heard of it, but it gives me pause in appreciation of our great many gifts, particularly the blessing and epiphany of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 🙂

Looking for God in All the Wrong Places

Fall is in the air. Our congregation just had its “Thanks for Giving” turkey supper. It’s time to take a breath of contentment before the holiday season begins. And, after that brief moment, I am pleased to announce that my friend, Rev. Chris Matthis (LCMS), has released another book: Looking for God in All the Wrong Places: Sermons for Advent and Christmas. (To be honest, it includes Epiphany, too. :))
