I am officially a pianist. I’m playing at church each service, and we’ve finally gotten back to singing the service as well as the hymns now that so many of our members have been vaccinated. Yay, yay, yay!

Hymns for Small Lutheran Hands
Want to hear something awesome? There are now five books of simplified Lutheran hymns—basically melody spread into both hands—arranged by Maggie Casey and posted free for all here. Who’s a fan of Hymns for Small Lutheran Hands? This girl!!! My eleven-year old was just playing some yesterday and it was exactly what this stressed out momma needed to hear!

Free beginner hymns
I’m still on break, but this is too good not to share. A blogger and her 9-year-old daughter has started taking Lutherans hymns and arranging them as free beginner hymns for budding pianists! And, I do mean beginner! Her post here, announcing her intent to share such a supremely awesome resource for FREE, already has the first hymn selection, I Know that My Redeemer Lives! Right on time for Easter!
I particularly adore this selection because, to me, it’s a funeral hymn. It continues to comfort me about those this world has lost, and I think it’s excellent theology put into a child’s mouth. 🙂
Woo hoo! Free Lutheran resource for piano!!!
