Thanks for the comments on yesterday’s post. As I’ve continued to think about the topic, it’s occurred to me that, as sinners, we are so quick to look to “normal.” What do we consider normal? An ongoing pretty good situation that can handle rather trivial chances in scenario. I’m thinking “normal” relates to our understanding of God and the extent of our need for God! Sadly, people don’t want to need God in a normal, ongoing way.

There is Time
Ladies and gentlemen, a gentle reminder that there is time: time to eat, drink, and brush your teeth. There is time to slow down so you can catch your temper. There is time to get away and be by yourself, even if it’s just a few extra moments in the bathroom, 😉 And, there is time to think through a few sentences to try to make them beautiful, clever, succinct, or whatever other goal you may have for your writing.

I’m smitten with this article on The Busy Person’s Lies. I keep thinking about it. Sometimes I’m affirmed, sometimes condemned, but more often it fills me with a delightful sense of wonder: what if I’ve really got time?

Schedule
I’ll admit this may be dumb. I love the blogging feature where you “schedule” rather than “publish.” It is such a weight off my mind, even though it is hardly different: I won’t really get up earlier than 6am to catch a final error before “going live.”
The comforts we cling to are so often additional steps. We add to our days rather than subtract from them, despite feeling a frightful scarcity of time.
