I’m not afraid to admit I’m reading the book, How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind. Seriously, who can blame me? But what I really appreciate about these tips is that they are applicable to a lot more than decluttering!

My Why
A sentiment/scenario was sent in and it really resonates with me: “I’ve forgotten my why. I can’t seem to grab hold of it for more than a few minutes and then it slips away.”

Ideally How Many Publishers
Ideally how many publishers should a prolific author have? It’s a somewhat ridiculous question, maybe, but it’s mine. Since I know of smaller publishers, should I spread around my proposals? Or should I try ever larger publishers?

Wanting My Magnus Opus
I’ve been craving more writer community lately. I daresay I’m not alone in that! Do any of you hang onto an idea for years and years, hoping a certain project or two could become your magnus opus? But, um, not put any work into it? I’m just wanting my magnus opus and prayerfully stewing a while. Sigh.

Parents of Writers
I know my menu is already clunky with webpages, but I’ve thought of one more. Once again, I’d like your help as you’re able to lend it. 🙂 Let’s help parents of writers! What would you put on a Parenting Writers page? How can we help and support? What are a few basics that can equip those alongside the writing game to safeguard writing kids?

Vocational Jumpstarts
Odds are good that you’ve experienced a writing drought. Maybe you’re in a slump. Or a funk. Maybe too many other things are just flooding your schedule, but today I thought we could address vocational jumpstarts and how that can help us jump back into writing, too.
Too Many Goals
Some quick encouragement to help us focus from the talented author/hymnist/editor Lisa Clark:
If you love to write, write. Don’t worry about all the details that can bring about an abrupt halt to your creativity. But as you write, continue to ask yourself your motivation behind your work. If for personal enjoyment, great. Write things you personally enjoy. If for your family, great. Keep that audience in mind. One of the biggest mistakes writers make is confusing their writing by adding too many different goals each time they sit down to create.

Amazon Affiliates
Maybe it’s because I’m home with my young children, but I often think in terms of “becoming a responsible adult.” So, after reading a blog post about the need for bloggers to make proper disclosure, I though, “Shoot! Become a responsible adult!” I tweaked my website a bit and hopefully now I’m better up to snuff. Anyway, Amazon Affiliates. I do it. It’s free. It’s awesome. If you put yourself out there promoting your books, especially if you have your own website, there’s no reason not to do it.

Lutheran Workshop Review
Today we have a guest post from Pam Springer. It’s a Lutheran workshop review about her experience with the Lutheran writing workshop, Faith and Writing, held at Concordia Seminary. Thanks again Pam for letting us in on a little that happens! Maybe next year more of us can attend!

My first “novel”
I hereby embrace my inner weirdo. I just found notes I wrote for my first “novel” when I was a kid. (Yep, in a box of papers spilling out in my mother’s garage: making an entrance.) Here is it for your amusement! Unabridged and, so help me, unedited. Except for the girl’s name. That I’ll spell consistently and correctly!
